When Hurricane Katrina forced Willie W. and his wife, Cleo, to relocate to Texas, he was unable to pursue his active passions for gardening and home improvements from their apartment. Willie joined SilverSneakers to get active again, and the fitness program served as a powerful support system for him when he was diagnosed with cancer. He came up with his own motivational slogan: SAFE (Stay Active and Fit Every day). His instructor says he's a "dream participant" because he is always so cheerful, friendly and caring.
